Setup:
MacBook Pro
VDJ Pro
Audio4DJ
Denon DN-S3500 CD Turntable
DDM-4000 external mixer
Dilemma:
I have been using the typical external mixer setup and plugging headphones into the external mixer. Well, I just ran across a mapper for the DDM that I like (hadn't checked over there in ages), but it uses the crossfader section of the mixer for MIDI. A well known limitation of this mixer is that the crossfader can be used for audio or MIDI, but not both. If I use the crossfader as MIDI, I lose the PFL/CUE on the deck which isn't playing out. If I use the crossfader as audio, I lose a couple of mappable buttons.
I am beginning to think I should resign myself to the fact that I have to choose, but before I do, I thought I would come ask the good people here. Are there any options? Or am I just hamstrung by the limitations of the mixer?
