Topic: Ideal Karaoke / Trivia setup???

Hello,
I currently play in a cover band full time. We are typically booked Fri-Sun and I am looking to start a Karoke/Trivia service to do on the weekdays. As you can probably assume I've got the FOH sound gear on lock. O1v Mixer, JBL 115s, JBL 118 subs, yadda, yadda, yadda.... I am really more curious about the Karoke systems.

What is the ideal Karoke setup you would put together if money is not an issue?
What laptop, programs, hardware, etc are best?

Take a look at Karma Karaoke... actually I'm hoping there'll be an improved karaoke plugin for VDJ in the near future.
 
Agreed....I want a scrolling ticker with the next three singers at the top...programable messages. Since VDJ8 is mostly xml driven it wouldn't be hard as well to be able to save singer history's.
 
MtuHoster does everything. I get compliments all the time on my singers screen view, from other program owners. Those scrolling messages never get looked more than a Few seconds for anyone to catch when they are coming up.
 
@ Bryant the Karma program works with no problems using VDJ at all no matter what program has control of the screen, but unfortunately Hoster always has a problem and errors out,,even with it's own MicroStudio program using it to play cdg disc.tracks... the real bad part about all this is, they haven't done anything about it for years. They are quickly becoming a real dinosaur....so sad..
