I just recently started using it instead of my pcdj dac3. And upon hooking it up the left side pitch slide no longer controls the software. I tried working the slide to force a catch and unplugging it repeatedly. Nothing works. Everything else is fine. I use the latest version of vdj with virtual vinyl box

Hello. I assume you mean Numark DMC2 ?
In that case please check the soldering inside. Me and many of my collegues had similar trouble, like pitch going wild, button stop working etc.
I really liked the layout so I did re-solder the PCB-board totally. After that it worked for many years without problem.
Now however, it has been replaced.
I guess you have a broken soldering for your left pitch fader.
