话题: Advice on upgrades

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Little advice needed on leveling up. I’ve been playing bars on and off for the past couple years. Top 40, 80’s, Rock, some hip hop etc…I make 'em move every night so now I'm looking to upgrade my gear and tighten things up.

Simple setup with a Laptop using VDJ Pro 7, Maya44 USB jacked into the clubs mixer. . I’ve now started working for a production company and I do shows at multiple bars. Thing is I have to use this mixer…

I hate using the VDJ software crossfader and I’m looking to get my own mixer so I can start actually doing a decent mix. I looked at the midi controllers but I’m not sure if that’s what I need. The usual setup at these places is just hooking XLRs to the club system and off I go.

I’m looking at one of these mixers.

Are the FX worth it for the extra $$?

This one has the USB inputs, does this eliminate the need for my Maya44? Pros/Cons over the C3FX? Advice on using something completely different?

Tell me if I’m thinking wrong here, but eventually as I practice I envision adding a couple NDX’s as I get better. Or should I be thinking more of the huge midi controllers I see? I grew up with house/jungle DJs spinning vinyl and eventually I’d like to migrate into that area as well. For now I’m still learning to walk. All advice welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!

they aren't the best options tbh... the numark is the cheapest design they offer just with extra channels... the effects while easy to use sound terrible, and the controls on it are very poor quality and do not feel good to use at all... if it's effects you want you can get them from the download section after you register your serial so don't need to get a mixer with effects built in.

I have never used mic's so can't comment on the mackie, they do make great equipment but it costs a lot so I am doubtful of it's quality.

The only cheap mixer I would recommend is the behringer ddm4000, it's midi and fully customizable.

meh, FX are nice bells and whistles to play with but I can really take them or leave them. Just something I was thinking about.

Thanks for the Behringer suggestion though, cheers.
