Hello there. Im a happy user of VDJ since v5. I'm still using FLAWLESS a dedicated PC mounted on a rack (Pentium Dual Core 2.6ghz, 4Gb DDR2 RAM, Nvdiia GTX 7600 with 256Mb DDR3, Sata OS XP64 HDD, SATA music/video files 1.5 TB) with the denon HC.4500 and DN-x500 mixer. Im still happy with the performance with v7.0.5. I have no antivirus, and there is no way I use an unknow thumb drive from anyone.
Now Im starting to rip some Blurays (in other PC) but the VDJ PC seems it is too slow to play them flawless. Ripping downgrading the quality it is a pain in the ass because it takes a LOT of time, more than full HD. AANNDD, Im getting old, Im right now 36 and a half, and still work as a mobile DJ, and do a lot of gigs in second floors where there is no elevator.
So Im decided to own an overkill Laptop. A one that I would not have to upgrade in at least 5 yrs. I preffer NVidia over ATI. I Preffer Intel over AMD in High performance PCs (in low budget, I like AMD over intel). I will put all my data (music and videos) in an external Seagate GoFlex 3Tb HDD USB3. Will use the Denon MC-6000.
In the PC, Im using the VGA output to feed a 4000 lumen projector in a rear projection screen. Probably I will keep using the VGA connections.
So guys, I will appreciate your suggestions. Budget it is not a big issue, if it worth it, I will buy it.

Well... the video card (Intel's Integrated) doesn't seem to work flawless in most cases for video mixing...
Thanks anyway... But searching at Dell's homepage I found the Allienware lappys, looks pretty cool.

There are so many choices and *most* will work fine.
Have a read of the forums or do a search, the same topic comes up on almost a daily basis and there's plenty of advice in other threads.

Thanks Kradcliffe. I was just asking because I remember years ago when just barely bought VDJ, there were too many issues in laptops... thats why I decided to go the "pc-way".
Cheers!
