When I use automix, there is an audible spike in the current track playing whenever the software starts to blend to the next song. Anyone else experience this??

I have, and was wondering if it the fact that I have auto-gain on. Perhaps the fraction of a second that the sound does spike is the program having to "auto-gain" the next track while the current track is playing on the same deck and nearing the mix cue point.

Yes, I also get this, but not on every song. I really think this is the worst part of the programme. If you ever play on a large sound system you could genuinely damage a large number of people's hearing I guess.
I had it once where I played on a big sound system and it happened but luckily it was at the start of a large event when it was background so I just got a telling off from the sound engineer and had to mix by hand for the 2 or 3 hours whilst people were eating a 3 course meal.

To avoid this, you should ensure that your music collection has been pre-analysed so that correct gain is set for each track. Automix may start playing a song before it has loaded in full and the correct gain setting is known.
