Topic: VDJ7 + Hercules 4-Mx = no mic

Hercules 4-Mx mic input and button works when VDJ is not running. When I start VDJ the button that turns on the mic stops working. I also have a RMX and the mic button works as it should when VDJ is running. This behavior happens on both my gigging laptop and my desktop.

Everything else works fine on the 4-Mx. This is not much of a problem for me since i have a mic mixer in my rack but i want it to work when I gig at a place i do not bring my rack along and there is no mixer around.
Setup

Laptop
Core 2 duo
4gb ram
win 7 64 bit

Desktop
Core 2 Quad
8gb ram
Win 8 preview (yes it runs VDJ well)

if i had the 4mx i'd give it a spin and get back to you.....

have you tried searching at the Hercules forum ? give that a shot ...
 
VDJ disables the Talk Over function of the 4-Mx in order to use the microphone as an external source and recording.

In order to use the mic, be sure to set the audio configuration as follows:

- Input : Microphone

- Output(s): Headphone

-Soundcard: DJ Console 4-Mx


Doing so, when pressing the Mic On/Off button, Deck A will switch to external source and the microphone will come thru.

I was experiencing the same issue with the mic. now it works but what causes the setting to change?
