@ GroovinDJ. I wonder why there is NO update for the Denon 5500.

Well Denon often cite cost as a reason for not having certain functions or features, so it looks like (with the 3900) they've gone for using a computer or an iPad as a screen rather than add a decent screen to the unit or have a direct connection to an LCD monitor - which is what people kept asking for.
Maybe they thought that the 5500 was a failure, so they're not prepared to risk something similar.
My view though, is that a lot of people just didn't grasp the concept of the 5500 at the time, and with it being discontinued relatively quickly, Denon lost out on sales which would have come later (post CDJ-2000 for example) once people realised what it could do.
