hey guys anybody know any NYC promoters/Djs that are looking for an extra dj :-) ...... i been struggling to get a gig since i stop doing mobile gigs got to hectic for my self.... and i rather do clubs,???

What's worked for me and a few other DJ friends I know is to actually go to the clubs you want to play at and introduce yourself. I take it a step further in that after I meet the powers that be, I shoot them over a demo CD. Better yet, I bring a demo CD with me at times and just hand it to em. Also going there just once won't cut it. You need to be in front of their face constantly. Promoters and club mgr/owners have short term memories.
I have gotten a few guest spots this way as well as my current residency. Once you do get spots, you need to continually network.

Make a good cd with 3 or 4 session of different genres. Hand them out to many promoters and make sure it has your contact information. Alot of clubs in New York play hip Hop & R&b, dance, latin, reggae, reggaeton & Some classics. I wouldnt be up in their face because, they wont call you.
