Hello everyone was wondering if virtual dj has timecodes for the 850s bc it only says its supports the 800s. Also was wondering if i all this will run together with virtual dj. This is the setup im going for......2 cdj 850s, the djm 900 nexus, and a maya 44 usb soundcard all running off of virtual dj. Hoping to get some feedback on this im hoping this all works togther. Thanks : )

I recently got the djm 900 nexus... Running perfectly with vdj and vinyl timecodes on a Macbook pro. Best thing about it is that it has a built in sound card... No need for your Maya 44

so you are aware, the cdj 850's are native hid devices, this means you can map every control on the cdj's to control dj software in vdj pro. The cdj's also have their own soundcard on board however the soundcard in the djm900 is of a higher quality, so you should use that instead to keep the signal processing digital as long as possible, instead of
digital (vdj -> cdj850) --> analog (rca cdj850 -> djm900) --> digital (djm900) --> analog (rca djm900 -> speakers)
you can of coarse use timecode's however you negate a lot of the cdj's controls doing this. I beleive pioneer also updated their firmware to make it so the spinning disk on the platter now actually runs at the correct speed, although I am not 100% on this, it is better to check with pioneer.
I also strongly suggest you use the djm900 as an external mixer, it sounds great, the internal vdj one sounds terrible in comparison.

should be just a single usb into the computer, and you should be able to use the pioneer link cable to connect the cdj's to the mixer, no rca's as vdj is sending the signal directly to the mixer, then simply just your master out to the speakers of amp and the booth out if applicable.

Hi,
I've bought my son a couple of Pioneer CDJ 850's, I need to know the following
1/ How do I get the track names of CD's to show on the CDJ 850 wether it's a pre recorded CD or a CD downloaded from itunes.
2/ How do transfer tracks from itunes (using a imac) to the CDJ 850, I have a usb connection from my imac and is connected to the back of the CDJ 850.
Sorry I'm not very experienced with computers.
Thanks in advance
Jim

That will depend on whether the CD Text info is on the CD. Some CDs have it. Some don't.
If you burn a disc of MP3s, then that info will come from the MP3 tags.

You can't transfer tracks to it. It has no storage.
If you had bought the CDJ-900s, you could have used the ProDJ Link to network the CDJs to Rekordbox software, and drag & drop songs that way - but the CDJ-850s don't have ProDJ Link.
