So I just grabbed couple of 900s but havent decided on the mixer yet... If I'm understanding correctly i'll need midi mixer in order for me to control video mixing on virtual dj, right? any suggestions and how do i go about hooking all of that up? thanks!

I use a DJM 800 since it's MIDI. The MIDI to USB device, well hell I forgot the name. Caliente said it once something like Cakewalk or something. Anyways it works great.

Just so I get it right... I will be able to move crossfader in VDJ with analog fader of the mixer, right? I was just looking at 800! Pretty much industry standard? Also, any feedback on the new DJM 900 nexus?

The DJM 900 is also MIDI mappable, so you can map the all the faders in VDJ, though I do not. You really dont have to with an external mixer. For video you can MIDI the crossfader, but I generally leave the crossfader in the middle and use my booth volume knob for video transitions since I dont use booth out. Anyways the point is they are mappable :)

So if I get MIDI mixer I'll need a laptop with 3 USB ports? 2 for 900s and one for the mixer?

Yes, you can get one with just two, but you will need external USB hub. I use an external USB hub also. I use my USB ports for my mixer, Denons, external hard drive, and DMX via freestyler to run my lights through VDJ.
