话题: connect the Hercules RMX to JBL JRX-118SP

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to plug my Hercules RMX into the club's sound system I will be playing at on Wed night. They are using 2 JBL JRX-118 SP powered subwoofers which are driving 2 JBL PA speakers. They told me normally the just run XLR cables out of the back of the DJ's mixer and into the XLR inputs on the back of the subs. But since the Hercules does not have XLR outputs I'm kinda worried. The JRX-118 also has a 1/4 inch "Speaker-level" input. Can I just run something like guitar amp cables out from the Hercules 1/4" outputs & into the Speaker-level inputs? How would that sound compared to say getting some RCA to XLR adapters?

You don't have to worry as you have option to choose, quality of the sounds also varies on the cables you used. Good cable have a better sound quality while bad cables expect poor quality.

Option-1: Connect your RMX outputs RCA to the Club mixer inputs RCA then from clubs mixer outputs XLR or 1/4" TRS connect and wired to the back of the JBL powered subwoofer.

Option-2: Connect you RMX to the JBL powered subwoofer by using cables adapter option, here is your choice (you can make you own cables or buy a cables with this connection/adapter below) estimate how far the DJ's booth to speaker so that you can make enough cable length.
RCA MALE connector/adapter to XLR FEMALE connector/adapter
RCA MALE connector/adapter to 1/4" TRS connector/adapter

Option-3: If you have an small 4-channel mixing console that has XLR or TRS outputs, you can also use that to connect it to the back of the JBL powered subwoofer so you don't need to use the clubs mixer and on my experience the club equipments are usually having most troubles in it as many peoples uses and sometimes DJ's who used it before you have broke it and will give you a lot of problems.
