Hello,
I saw a similar post about this problem using FireText, but I seem to be having the same issue using just the regular camera plugin by itself. I have a Sony VX-2100 connected via firewire to my PC running virtual DJ 7 (latest update). During the live camera feed, little white vertical lines appear on the screen. Is there a setting I am missing? How do I get these to go away?
Thanks!!
Ryan

I've had the same issue. I just discovered a fix though it will cost you $60 USD. Use the plugin Essential Media v2.xx. Once installed and licenses, you can feed your Firewire camera through the plugin and get clean video. Haven't used it yet in a live setting but it does work at home.
You can download & install the plugin from the plugin center here on VDJ. Then through the plugin, you can purchase the license.

Hey Weldon, you forgot to mention the FREE Firetext Camera plugin with FREE SMS, Tweet & Emails and all the other features that come FREE with the FREE Firetext Plugin.
Just thought you guys should know about it....
Weldon, why are you digging up old posts to promote a particular software, seems quite unusual to do so.

This wasn't about promoting software. This was about answering a question that no one could or would answer.

I have a cheap (or free if you don't mind having the logo on your video) solution to this issue.
I have run into this problem at a bar I was helping out, and in an attempt to replicate the problem, I was astounded that replicating it wasn't a problem, SOLVING it WAS!
There's simply something wrong with how Virtual DJ talks directly to the port or how it's interpreting the video/audio/timecode and other info embedded and multiplexed in the single data stream (I am guessing the latter)
When VDJ talks to a video only source, it works just fine.
When it talks to a multiplexed digital stream like that on firewire, it seems to have some issue with the decoding.
The solution ? don't let VDJ see the whole stream, just feed it the video.
The solution I employed was a program called WEBCAMMAX which has the added benefit of being able to multi-stream your video to more than one program at a time, plus you get a host of video effects you can activate (or leave off...your choice).
When you tell VDJ to use WEBCAMMAX as it's video source, and tell WEBCAMMAX to use the firewire camera as ITS source, everything works flawlessly.
At the time of writing this, a lifetime subscription which includes any and all updates etc. was selling for $24.95, and considering all the extra stuff it can do, it's a pretty cheap solution to the problem with benefits!
I don't know why I waited so long to try this solution, I've had WCM for years now, and just never though to use it to solve this problem until someone suggested some $60 piece of software - that's when the light-bulb went off!
Anyway, I hope that helps until VDJ fixes it's decoding of firewire video streams!
