Topic: Searching for the Cover Art

Hey everyone,

I have notice that lately I haven't been able to get anything but a blackout album art.

At first I thought it was something worng with my system but I found that my system and software are both working fine. I also found that, even with songs with already download cover album art I'm only getting the one blackout album art now. I started noticeing this around the begin on this year when I have upgraded to VDJ 7 but thought nothing of it until this week.

I need to note that this is a hit and miss thing becuase I will find the art I like and select it only to re-open the search album art bottom again and only get the blackout album art with no other selection given. All this within secounds of me selecting a good album cover art.

If there's a setting which I need to set please help me find it. I like have album art cover for all my music and not this new blackout album art which now come most of the time.

Thanks for reading and I hope some one can help.

BTW: I haven't created a ticket yet but if anyone thinks I need to I will. I'm hopeing this a setting I need to fix.

Cant remember where but it was mentioned here in the forums.put it in the search engine....

Yes I saw that but there isn't an answer to the problem listed there...

It looks like it isn't the version as I already noted above.

There most be an issue with google or the way the code looks for the album art.

Something have changed and we need to be told that to do or an fix is in order...

Like I already stated...

I like seeing the album art...

First, you will have to delete the covers you don't like, then go to config "Browser Tab" and set your Cover option to "Download exact match", see how that works for you by highlighting those files, right click select "Batch" then "Download covers" at the bottom....

If that doesn't suit you, then go back into config and select the next option "Local search only".....

Na, No thing is working...

I get nothing or Blacken cover art...

I feeling that there is something going on with Google web art and all the others too...

VDJ is not finding any cover art at all...

Like I already stated above... "Even with art which I already have, when I go to find it again I get nothing but the black square...

Hi cad dog,
because you had vdj browser set to "d/load no matter what", its actually d/loaded black covers.
these files are hidden but need to be deleted, you need to set your folder options (in windows) to "show hidden files" then you will see the album art files slightly grey ed out. delete them all. then change option in virtual dj to "dowmload excact match" this will then take you back to the vdj custom covers, the coloured blocks.

Why google shows all covers as black squares ? i havent worked out.......shame it would nice if it worked !
 
Artwork from google is broken at the moment. Hopefully it will be fixed on the next release.

I installed 7.0.5b last night and
did notice that "from Rhapsody" worked on a couple of files but
"from Google" is still in the BLACK...

:(
 
VirtualDJ cover search never worked here either. Always having black covers as results.
The only (but not better) answer I found is to attach the album art to mp3 Id3Tag with an Id3 editor.
So, VirtualDJ will load the cover art right straight from the tag.
Is not the better answer once you will have to search by yourself on internet, copy the image files and edit the tags one by one.

Sorry to hear that it never worked for you but
it did for me until a few months ago.

Album art would give you a selection of which to pick from.

I hope they re-adjust this code soon.
 
For manual saving images is good this site http://www.discogs.com/

System is easy.I have two monitors and one singl is done in 40 seconds
 
How are you doing it? I can download the file, rename it exactly the same as the file +.jpg, yet VDJ still does not see the file, Seriously miffed at this.
