I have a Sony Vaio laptop and brought the full pro virtual dj. I can be djing and the external with stop working and no controls or buttons work. I have done all the different scans ie BPM and tags. Can anybody tell me why i have loaded it 4 5 times and still no joy.. its doing my head in!!!!

What external hardware are you using?
Do you have the latest drivers and firmware installed from the manufacturer's webstie?
And the latest version of VirtualDJ: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html ?
Are you using Windows Vista? If so, it may be the well known bug in Vista with MIDI devices. Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/MIDI%20controller%20stops%20working%20with%20Windows%20Vista.html - Some controllers such as Denon DN-MC6000 have workarounds built into the latest firmware for this problem.
