话题: Numark V7 with VDJ - Page: 1

I am really considering buying 2 V7s and a numark 2-channel mixer. But from my research i have found out that the numark V7s come with the itch software. So does that mean I can only use the V7s on itch software? Because I love using VDJ now on my numark mixtrack pro. From some of my research, you could only use the V7s on itch. But I guess now you can use it on SSL and VDJ... Is that true? And I also heard that if you use the V7s on another software besides itch, then you can NOT use the effects buttons on the V7 controller. I guess the effects buttons only work for itch.. is that true?

You can use the V7 with VDJ and yes all the buttons work on it including the effects. Trust me I owned one and it worked great with VDJ.

By the way you can't use the V7s with Serato SSL only with Serato Itch.

If you do buy a v7 please make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements offered by the hardware, if not you you will be wasting your money

Ok but do i have to buy virtual vinyl for it? I have VDJ pro right now on my numark mixtrack pro, and the scratching is def not like a spinning platter. I want that nice sound of spinning platters on vinyl. And what is a really good mixer to put with these V7s?

If you already have VDJ then that will work just fine. I've had a pair of V7's since they were first put on the market. Any mixer to your liking will work great with these controllers. Currently I'm using the Technics SH-MZ1200 4 Channel mixer because I already had it. The V7's & VDJ works like a charm. Believe me the scratching and everything is all there like Prego! Hi I'm curious to see how you managed to make them work with VDJ as I also have 2 NumarkV7 and stopped using them as I didn't like the old version of Itch, so I bought a Hercules to work my videos with VDJ, please explain to me the setup you did to make them work and another question the crossfader didn't work with the mixer so I had to use the mouse to switch... is there a way to make this work aswell! thank you in advance.

This is my VDJ audio setup. This particular mixer doesn't have midi capability. I also have the NS6 what I use for video. I'm waiting for Numark to unleash a new mixer along the lines of the unreleased Numark X7 mixer.

So I've developed a fetish for these things. A V7 Fetish. Not in the sick kind of thought pattern but rather simply admiring the structure of the device/turntable itself. Passing your fingers gently over its metallic casing inspires a type of self awareness that makes one realize the impact your about to make with the following equipment whether it be out in the club or a hardcore electro rave in your bedroom.



The casing is very important for it has become their home. Where they rest and nurture of comfort. They basically sleep there.





I can play blind folded. Making loops on the fly makes me want to cry...



So yeah....I like to dj and stuff.

please i have been trying to play with my numark v7 and my virtual dj 7.0.4 . it works fine but the only thing is thaat once i turn the motor on for the platter to be rolling, it stops playing. the platter will be rolling but it wont control the deck again.. please what can i do

I have been rockin the V7's & a Hercules RMX with FLAWLESS video mixing & scratching. I believe Cstoll has a setup guide in the hardware forum. I use the Herc RMX to get midi control of the crossfader & effects, the effects still work for the V7.

Okay not to throw a spanner in the works but i have had my v7s for almost a year and they keep crashing so i rang numark in the uk and thy told me "im wasting my time with these units unless i have a mac"
If anyone can help me please let me know i have stripped my computer down to its bare balls and still nothing

My V7's & Herc RMX run flawless on an under spec machine (Gateway 1.6ghz dual core, 2 Gb ram, intergrated Intel GMA 945 224mb video card, 32bit XP). I can run video all night long. Check the V7 setup in hardware. I have had my V7's since they first came out.

Ive been dj.ing withmy windows 7 64bit for over 4 years now and no problems what so ever.like ive said in the past its how we take care of are laptops. I only use mines for dj.ing and thats it. No internet downloads, no school stuff ect, ect

I didn't say that 64-bit Windows is bad. What I said is the majority of drivers for that platform are not 'true' 64-bit drivers and will cause issues.

Do you use Numark V7s ?

If not, then you are one of the fortunate ones that may not experience any issues with the specific gear that you use.

Like i have yet to do a proper gig with them crashing.. 15 mins tops not playing video or anything and boom i get a pop and both controllers go down with a bang and the freeze the program.. There is nothing on the laptop its only djn stuff.. I will try that and see if that works if not i will get bak to her cheers bro really appericate that gives me some idea of what could be wrong...

hey cstoll imstill having problems with my v7s even after i changed to 32bit...
Any ideas of where to go next?

Also, very important! - Download and install the latest Itch. Since these controllers shipped with Itch any firmware upgrades are distributed as part of that software. So, to make sure you are running the latest firmware on them - you must install Itch and run that software 1 time (with the controllers connected ) to get the firmware pushed to them.

Also, should not need to install any drivers from the Numark site after installing Itch. The drivers that get installed should be enough.
