Topic: Scratchin with VDJ...........

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Here's a promo video for an American Audio mixer but the guy throws down using timecodes and VDJ.

Just more proof that VDJ is solid with timecodes.........

Enjoy
Huey

P.S. Anybody know what kind of timecodes he's using??

he is using the timecode cd, or in this case an mp3 played from a usb stick, but not sure why he would use timecodes as the 3000 sends midi according to their website... it's crazy that the rep doesn't even understand how to get the best out of his product LOL

The Time codes work but you still see lag. You can hear it when he using the Cd players and the timecode vinyl's has just alittle

You didn't watch the full video........he switches to turntables and the records are blue. They have a cue marker on them and I can't tell what they are.

nah i didnt, i got bored, i have a terrible internet connection which is about 25kb/sec off my phone :(

they look like serato, but they were kinda laggy... I had em running perfect, but i'd say that's down to the soundcards latency... I would steer clear of anything american audio and go with the reloop IQ2 in that class, although the soundcard in my digital jockey 2 leaves a little to be desired...

Yeah I know, I'm stickin with my Ecler till it starts on fire in my hands, lol!! I just wanted to show someone scratchin with VDJ cause there aren't a whole lot of videos out there.

If you don't know who you are talking about ... then keep your opinions to yourself. And he knows a lot more about VirtualDJ than you think ...

Also, when he is using the Radius 3000 he is using their MIDI mode interfacing to VirtualDJ - not timecode. If you pay attention to what he says at the 3:08 mark - he is going from USB, to SD Card, to direct VDJ (aka MIDI). The point of the video was to demonstrate the American Audio DV2 -- not the Radius 3000.

At the 5:10 mark he goes into the TimeCode mode using only the DV2 as the interface to VirtualDJ.

The DV2 is the first battle mixer (with MIDI features) that you can hook-up direct and run VirtualDJ in timecode mode without the need of a separate soundcard.

The latency and sound of it is exceptional and clean for 'who' is making it and the price it comes in at - $249USD
Anyone that is looking for that 'basic' 2 channel timecode solution with very minimal setup and upstart cost where you don't feel like you have to take out a second mortgage or sell off other gear - the DV2 is the right piece of gear to pick up.

btw, the vinyl being used is the standard SSL-Blue vinyl with a customized center replacement label :)

And it is not a dedicate mixer with a dedicate sound setup for a closed system at a $1500 price tag ...

I wouldn't say that the DV2 is the mixer to replace the 'closed' system designed mixers that costs 4, 5, or 6 times the money ... but for the price it gets damn close to those mixers when talking specifically about timecode support and response - no?

Oh, and as Huey pointed out - he is using VirtualDJ the so called 'toy' of the industry ... :)

Here's the same video but with just the tables, I think it sounds pretty good and he's using VDJ!

Enjoy
Huey

And thanks Chris

well it goes to show that opinions are like...... and I am one, sorry to offend Chris and Huey it'll probably happen again but I'll try to keep it in check.

I'm not offeneded, lol! I just wanted to know what timecodes he was using and show people that visit the forums that scratching is possible with VDJ. Theres alot of hate but I'm doing my part to change to change it ;-)

We got this guy coming at the end of this month and I'm gonna have him throw down on my setup, I hope anyways, lol!

anyone else notice the guy from that video had headphones on only at the end of the video when he was done mixing?

What video are you talking about??

He's talkin about that 1rst one u posted huey. Tell him "when ur that good,u dont need headphones"...(actually if u watch the battles you will see that these guys workout a routine and know they're records well..."screen cueing" makes it even easier.....

I notice that DMC champ wasn't using AA gear in his performance lol.

i agree after working with a few tracks so much i know all of their cues. but when i come up with mixes im playing the same mixes over and over aagain everygig and its kinda hard to get good mixing ideas any tips?
