Topic: CDJs + Hercules RMX + VDJ Pro

Just bought a CDJ 200 and upgraded to the full version of VDJ. I want to use the Hercules as my mixer and soundcard, and my CDJ as a timecoded controller to play MP3s. It must be connected up properly as I can play CDs via my CDJs and control the levels with my RMX. I've burned a timecoded CD and put it in but I can't get it to work with VDJ.

Once I click the Source 1 button I just get a high pitched ringing noise.

Any ideas I've been reading older topics all afternoon with no joy

I just bought the numark ndx800 and I didn't need to timecode them all I had to do is set the audio to line in's and go under mallees and see if it found the device. That is the only difference is the NDX is considered a controller. Hope this helps. Practice and enjoy.
 
I use CDJ 800s with my RMX, I tried the time codes from VDJ, had the same problem. I think there are 2 versions consumer and pro, I think I burned consumer. Try burning the pro version. I actually use Serato timecode CDs they have worked great for that set up, you can burn those as well from their website, try both, cheers!
 
if you can hear a high pitch ringing noise, that is the timecode signal. It means your not routing the audio properly...

make sure the switch on the rmx is set to "line". You then need to set up vdj's inputs to "timecode" and your done.

If you want to use cue and looping on your cdj you need to set the timecode mode to "absolute" or "smart relative". If you just want to use the platters and play/pause set it to relative
 
Thank you. Using the Pro Timecode has done the trick despite is saying for CDJ 200s to use the other one.

Synthet1c may be you can help me out on my problem? so Im using the Hercules RMX + Numark NDX800+VDJ pro on a mac book. so when i got the cdj i tried to hook it up as a timecode but it didn't work so I tried the line in's since i ended up plugging it in via USB. ok now its working good so when i launch VDJ I go to the mappers and click on the ndx800 and hit ok now i start to practice and I notice that i have to hit cue select to the deck i'm using for the cdj to control that deck but say all of a sudden i hit cue on the rmx or sync the cdj looses function and I've notice that the led lights on the rmx stay lit and i have no control of the deck no more.i've to reload vdj, reload the mappers. what do you think is happing? please help i have a weeding in a week and would love for both units to be working properly by then.

not sure why its doing that bro, I'm only guessing but have you gone into the mapper and assigned the decks yet ? if so, maybe you could map one of these to your keyboard, then try it on the rmx and ndx

reinit_controller "NDX800" 200ms

or maybe

deck 1 assign_controller "NDX800" 1 & deck 2 assign_controller "NDX800" 2

I should ask aswell.. what do you want to control with what? are you going for 2 or 4 decks?

The only thing I've done in mapping is use the drop down box for device to be used. I'm Only going for the 2 deck for now as I'm still learning the in's and out's The only reason I bought it cuz it was on sale and having the ability to have a touch sensitive platter. Plus bigger Yes I eventually want to add scratch to
My mixes but at this point I just wanna use the cdj to control both decks and use the buttons on the rmx. I've picked up a lot of overtime so I haven't had that much time to play with it but when I do sometimes it works fine and sometimes it don't. I'm gonna try to make video of it tonight and hopefully it will act up so the forum can see the problem and be able to help me out.
