Topic: VDJ could not find video or karaoke files

I was doing VDJ with videos working fine without an extended screen. I then later installed a projector and couldn't get VDJ to find the video card to do the extended screen so I shut it down and restarted. From then on VDJ would not find the music video files or karaoke files in the folders. All it found was folders and they were empty. Windows media play saw them, I saw them on the hard drive. Another dj program saw them but not VDJ. I tried everything except ejecting the hard drive because it was being used by another program. VDJ never found the files at all throughout the night.

Did you check to see if any of these were checked or unchecked??

Hummm, the only thing that comes up is "show covers" and "show prelisten" nothing under that. Neither with double click, left click or right click.
 
Am i the only one having this problem?

You have globally disabled the video engine....

Go to config -> VIDEO -> ....(to enable it again)
 
Thank you, that worked. I'll remember that in the future. It never used to be that way. VDJ saw all the files and if we loaded a video into a deck it automatically turned on the video. I'm so glad that is all it was.
 
If you untick video in CONFIG -> Video then it disables the video engine altogether, including the ability to load video files (So they no-longer appear in the browser.)

When video is enabled, normally the video output is not activated until you actually load a video (Or forcefully activate the video output via CONFIG -> Video or the default mapping CTRL+V), so you may be thinking of that.
