由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi All,

I've just got a new laptop and had issues setting it up with my trusty RMX. Turns out there is an issues somewhere between the USB3 and Hercules drivers.

I'm looking to see if anyone else who has USB3 ports has had issues with an RMX or any other controller. This can be used as a guide to what does/doesn't work with USB3 and could also assist manufacturers to imrpove their drivers.

Looking forward to all your input and results.

Cheers,

Roy

as it happens, there is a huge amount of problems with usb2/3 compatabiity issues with a lot of hardware. theres a thread on the ni forums that was discussing this in some depth,

http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?p=903221

it seems usb3 is still highly unstable when it comes to backwards compatability.

I found with the MC6000 that Asio would only play with sound on the USB3 port. The controller worked fine on the USB ones just with no audio.

Strange or what?

if i remember rightly, wasnt there similar problems with the backwards compatability of usb2 when it first arrived?

I just got a new laptop with all USB 3 inputs on it and I'm getting terrible sound from it through the RMX, I have to hit the apply button in config in the sound setup window to clear it but thats every 20 minutes or so. I have to lower the volume and speak on the mic lol so know one notices the 2 second pause.

Also the MP-X10 crashes after 20 mins big time (un-usable) I am now in the process of trying other software's as backup.

I have been having crackly distorted sound from my old laptop two though and thats USB 2 but it's been nothing like USB 3, like I said it's un-usable you can't even here any music when that MP-X10 crashes. Your lucky if you don't blow the speakers! Its caused a fight already, remember I live near Hull and people kick of there easily.. Still I came of better, I know how to handle these fu**ers.

Not all devices are compatible with USB3 - In particular older devices may have issues.

For further information, please contact the hardware manufacturer and/or visit their website.

@Gadgetman

Do you know what is the USB 3.0 controller on your computer ?

If it is the NEC /Renesas USB 3.0 controllers (using the NEC 720200 F1 chip), be sure to use the latest driver and firmware versions. You can get this information in the controller utility:

Start Menu\Programs\Renesas Electronics\USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver\USB 3.0 Host Controller Utility

Obviously first check with the computer/card manufacturer’s web site for update, but if none are available you can try these, but at your own risk:

As for other types of USB 3.0 controller like Fresco Logic, there didn't seem to be any problems last time I checked.

Yes mine is the Renesas contoller. I will download those drivers and try them out later...

and did they work?

Don't know I do all my testing on the job it's the only way ;) live dangerously it's exciting!
