Hi guys, first time posting. I had an idea...

It is a wireless request system which links in with virtual dj. A user will either login to an internet page (or use an app/apk) which will communicate with a (excuse the term) notepadish system listing artist - song - person requested only. Obviously needs to be a little more in depth with security etc...
Reason for the idea, I have been doing gigs for a while and I have found no matter how many times I ask people for a request, they always reply "Ohhhhhh anything will do" which is really useless. I know using a phone number to allow for requests could be viable here but it can be dangerous (think Jack Dee) as well not to mention risk of battery life. I thought this system cannot really be abused (as much as mobiles) if made properly, plus think of the little extra wow factor of having an app/apk for it than just publishing a phone number.

but what do you guys think? Can it be done and will anyone take up the challenge.

Thanks

James

so your idea is to use firetext??? lol the system you speak of is already available.

http://www.firetext.com/

there are others too, but i cant remember the names.

Contact me James by pm on skype at Firetext.VDJ.Support or pm me and I'll be able to help you out with a trial version and talk you through how to use it.

I'm not sure if I understood the "idea"

But if I did, it's what the "Remote" app does for iTunes, which I use very often.

Everyone around me in the same wireless network can use their own iPhone/iPods to look at my entire library of songs and make requests from it. As they request the song it shows up on my itunes. The more votes a song has the higher on the top it goes.

Then I take that song and mix it in with VDJ.

Been using that for over a year now. :)

^ +1 really like that idea, can you pm me on how you have this setup please.

Regards Dj Klepht.
