Thank for the video and nice scratching. I was told a while back that the mixdeck could not be used to mix videos in VDJ because the mixer section was not midi. Is that still true?

You can mix videos with a Mixdeck, I do it all the time........and if you watched the video I showed you which knob I had mapped for the video crossfader, lol!! But with the Mixdeck Quad the mixer section is MIDI so you won't have to map the video crossfader to a spare knob........

Good Day

when you return it to the point its supposed to be. it still makes the pitch jump. im really not happy wit the way they work. i need to do some serious tweaking.

Check your pitch range in CONFIG -> Options - It may be that you are using a pitch range that it too wide, resulting in course adjustments.

In particular, if the pitch slider only has 7-bit resolution (Common on most budget controllers), then you should use a range of no more than 6%.

Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/MIDI%20controller%20pitch%20precision.html

thanks SS, ll try that later.

Hey I need help changing the numbers in the registry as well.. I have tried changing a few but none seem to get rid of it. I don't really know wht each one is exactly doing though. The problem I see is that when I scratch it takes a lot of time to pick back up on the song or sample so i cant scratch vocal loops or cues well.. any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
DJ Cool Colors

You really shouldn't change any thing in the registry unless your sure you know what your doing. I'd return it back to factory settings then open the registry tool with VDJ closed. Next find the line that says 'default scratch latency ' and change it to 1024. Now close it and open VDJ. Then scratch away.

Enjoy

worked perfect, thanks SS. now i need to try out hueys scratch settings. but im stll a bit rough off the weekend so im watching a bit of tv today.

I just realised on my mixtrack if i connect the rca cable to output 1 i can hear both decks at same time no matter where the cue is or the crossfader is, but if its from output 2 it only plays where the crossfader is.

Any ideas?

do

Inputs = None
Outputs = Headphones > Master : chan 1&2 / Headphones : chan 3&4
Sound card = Numark

this will give you headphones from either 6mm jack or second RCA, and your speakers from RCA set 1.

Hey blu

just realised im an idiot and didnt read my outputs properly hahaha had them the wrong way around lol

thanks mate

no worries mate, anytime. lol. i think most of us have had these brain fart moments that boggled the mind.

im still working on my jogs, they are really really poo for scratching. im getting a delay all the time. im not sure if my scratching style is too fast or the MTP is too slow.. lol. im upping a vid to you tube now to show just how awefully bad it is. i just wish my cdj wasnt in bits at the moment so i could do a comparrison video. my TT's arent hooked up either cuz i need a new soundcard lol. grrr...

heres how my scratching is playing up on my MTP, the delay is insane, i just cant work out how to get rid of it. ive tried hueys tweaks and still nothing. there seems to be very little jog responce. any ideas??

oh and i dont know how to embed vids on here so help wth that would be good too lol.

its too hard to tell, as the video is out of sync with the audio

hmm, im not sure why its out of sync, ill try and tweak it and re upload, but as you can hear there is quite a delay still.

yeah, synth, thats not out of sync mate. thats the delay. it seems out of sync as fader is opening still once ive released the jog. the time it takes from the jog release to the open fader completion is the amount of delay im having.

the delay should be a lot less from the release. watch again, and look for the release of the jog rather than the fader action you will see what i mean.

Playing around more, it seems that every time im lifting off the jog its creating a del ay could this be due to sensitivity levels?

either that's f@#ked, i'm wasted, or it's out of sync, unless its an acid flashback I'm pretty sure i'm not wasted, but when watching it I cant stop looking at the fader, and the pattern your playing isn't coming through the speakers... anyway that's not important, how is your latency? I know that card doesn't support asio, have you tried running through the herc card? It might give better results... also play with your sensitivity in config -> options

I hear the delay, but wow... that video sure doesn't do your problem justice. I'm hearing scratching without you even touching the jog, and I can kinda hear what you're talking about. This has nothing to do with what I was talking about earlier, but it is definitely sensitivity and or latency related.

Maybe im tripping then. Ill have to have a look and see if I can get the vid sorted when I get back home
