I've just downloaded VDJ, messed around a little and I'm a bit confused and such.
First off I want to create a little remix or something of the sort.
I want to create something like this:

How exactly would I go about doing that? I can't seem to figure it out...

You've downloaded DJ software.
What you need for creating remixes is production - a.k.a. DAW (digital audio workstation) - software.
Something such as Sony Acid, Ableton Live, Steinberg Cubase....
But.....if you found Virtual DJ software confusing, you'll be totally lost with DAW software!

I could make that with VDJ...........first you need the accapelle loaded on deck 1 next load deck 2 with the track you want. Now take your cell phone video and link that to either deck 1 or 2. For the 'xl' overlay use the Pangolin plugin or the Firetext plugin. Now hit record and make your video remix. You don't need Sony, Ableton or Cubase.............
