Looks like they just stripped out the Ipod dock and re-did the faceplate. I don't see any new features. It doesn't mention whether the mixer is analog or MIDI. My guess is this has basically the same guts as the current mixdeck. Need to keep something in the $500 - $700 range since the new all-MIDI Mixdeck Quad is going to be around $1000 I must say though the faceplate has a much cleaner look.

Something else Numark is putting out there looks awfully interesting

That's a great idea. But its way to small for me, lol! I should mention that Numark has also revamped the NDX's. There called the NDX 900's. I'm still for the quad to come out. But if Gemini gave the CDMP-7000 a MIDI/analog mixer is go with that cause it looks a lot better. I just it would perform aswell as it looks, lol!

I didn't see an effects button on this & that's a deal breaker for me....I think I would purchase a used Mixdeck before I would buy this unit....I feel like the only thing this "Express" version has over my Mixtrack Pro is the ability 2 play CD's...I love the Mixdeck unit....I am thinking about purchasing one not sure if I'm going to go with the new Quad or just find a used unit, Not even gonna consider this "Express" unit if it doesn't have the effects buttons

It has effects but its a shift hot key crap, lol! Besides when in MIDI mode you can map anything you want to launch an effect........

Looks like a really nice unit but just another stripped down version of the original mixdeck.

I like the mixtrack pro.

I have both - the mixdeck is basically like the mixtrack Pro plus CDJ's all in one neatly done package. The have the same platters and a lot of seemingly the same switchgear. Big thing for me is that the Mixtrack doesn't work without a laptop and the mixdeck does. Since they removed the Ipod dock I am not sure what the 3rd channel is for but it definitely cleans up the interface. Can't wait to see Mixdeck Quad in person though :) Need to start lining up the gigs to pay for that one and find someone to take a slightly used Mixdeck off my hands :) Would love to have more info on the Gemini CDMP-7000 as well

The one thing that I love is that when using a jump drive you can plug it into either side and it'll play on either side. Unlike the Mixdeck now where I have to have 2 identical drives plugged in. Not sure if I really like the position of the cue slider way up top either, could take a min to get used to, lol! Also notice how the pitch sliders are on opposite sides. Coming off of turntables this could also take a minute to get used to. But yeah I do really like the look of the mixer section. It's a lot cleaner looking without the ipod dock.

I never understood why the big importance of an Ipod dock in the beginning though..because I always carry a cable that has a headphone port on one end & RCA's on the other.....that way if my computer or mixtrack goes down I have backup music on my phone.....lol

The dock in my opinion was a great idea. I mean Lu have your backup and you can record all your sets with no added strain on our gig machine.

I got mine today and was a little confused with the sound setup ... A soundcard driver did not load when I hooked it up I'm using VDJ pro version7.0.5b... long story short I used asio4all drivers and it worked... Am I missing something or did I luck out... Any help would be apreciated.

Bad news, the mixer section is not midi on the Mixdeck Express.

Yeah it says that on the website. It's pretty much comman knowledge that the only Mixeeck with a midi mixer is the Mixdeck Quad.
Did you get your sound figured out?

Yes thx , it works great !! just wish the mixer was midi for video mixing purposes.

You can always assign a spare knob for the video crossfader, thats what Ive done with my Mixdeck.

I just bought the MixDeck Express today also....so if I load Asio4All it will work? or is there something else I need to do?

Ok so I dont have one but I just downloaded the manual and yeah you have to download "ASIO4ALL" for it to work. Weird, I would of thought it had its own drivers, oh well. Just download that and your good to go.

Thanks Huey....but now I am going really crazy !!! Downloaded it and its still not working. It works fine with the VDJ LE version, but not with my Pro Licensed version ...hmmmm..wierd,,,,any suggestions?

What do you mean it doesn't work? No sound, not connecting via MIDI?

Hmmm....I like that. That would be great to just goof around with. I may look into getting rid of my Mixtrack Pro for that thing. XLR out too, I may even take it out to my small bar gigs if the sound is good.......

But I really want to wait for the Mixdeck Quad.
