anyone use any of the korg nano's? im thinking of buying one bt not sure which to go for.

i know theres 3 main ones. a keyboard, a drum machine and a mixer of some sort, but what would you suggest? in thinking the keyboard so i can use it as a launcher and a keyboard , but i suppose the drum machine does the same. im not really into the mixer type.

any views and thoughts would be great.

I have and use all 3. There great!! Some will say get the LP8 or whatever its called but I also use them with Reason. They do feel cheap, cause they are but for the money you can do a GREAT deal of things with them and VDJ.

Hope that helps

the nano pad looks pretty cool, ive not long ago watched a few videos.

can you please tell me what the point of the nano kontrol is please huey?

thanks.

Well I have my NanoKontrol mapped like this.

There's 4 different scenes , basically 4 channels.
For the first 1, that controls all my video effect and there parameters.
The 2nd controls all my audio effects and there parameters.
The 3rd controls the decks, pitch bend, loops, etc, etc....
The 4th controls my sampler, starting, stopping, stutter, volume.

You can do SOOOOO much more with VDJ script then I have set mine up to but I hope this gives you an idea of what can be done. Oh and when I use Reason its basically my master mixer. The one that all your racks run into. The only problem I have is that when you change scenes and you have things activated the lights will not switch back to show you wants on after you switch. I have the old style so maybe this has changed in the newer versions. But if you have a lot activated it can become a pain if your memory is bad, lol!!

Hope this helps

so when you say the lights dont switch back after you switch, does that mean things will still be activated also but without any visual reference?

Yeah that's exactly what I mean, lol!! I'm not a very good explainer, is that even a word, Lmao!!

the MPD18 in the uk is £85

if i were going to spend that much i would go cheaper and buy the Akai MPK mini @ £69 and get a keyboard, controler and drummer all in one

wow, and the vestax is £101 more expensive than the Korg Nano Pad

korg £27.99

Vestax £129

im thinking i might just save up and buy the MPK mini. im sure it will be mappable to vdj. i know it works with ableton and studio one. so will probably be compatable with other too.

i like the compact size of the nanos which is what drew me to them, well, that and the price.
