Topic: Question about the Numark IM9

Hi all:
This is my first post so please be gentle...lol... I have a Hurcules RMX that I have been using for the past couple of years, I am going to retire the RMX or use it as a back up. I am purchasing 2 Numark NDX 800 cdj's, I was also interested in the Numark IM9 mixer,my problem is I can't find a lot of info on the unit. Does anyone know if it will work with VDJ 7 and if so do I need an external sound card when i hook it into my laptop. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

The IM9 is just a mixer and not a controller. It has no USB interface for connecting to a PC. The NDX800's will be your controller interface for VDJ or whatever application you want to use.

Thanks a lot P, so would it be better to buy a midi controller or just leave well enough alone. I will be using whatever program comes with the controler. I want to be able to map my controllerso I dont have to deal with my mouse pad
 
It really depends on what you want. I like my midi controllers (NS6 and RMX) but there are people that love their Vinyl or TimeCodes.

I love both my Controllers as I do not need CD's to carry around with me. The great thing with many new controllers is you have it all in one. Mixer and controllers in one package and the ability to add almost any input that you want or need.
 
sorry this was a late entry... LOL the numark mixer is not midi capable so you would just use it as a normal analog mixer, so you would need a soundcard to output the sound into the mixer
 
I Would Look Into The Numark NS7. It's What i Use. It's A all In One Unit & You Can Use Serato Itch That Comes With It & Or Use VDJ. But If Your Gonna Need 2 Play Cd's, Then Get The Numark Mixdeck As It Plays Everything = Cd's, Thumb Drive, Hard Drives & Laptop
 
The Mixdeck is a "True" all-in-one and I love it!! From everything I've read the NS7 is really power hungry so you need a beefy system to run it. Either one is great but I prefer the Mixdeck.

Stopped by the DJ store today and the mixdeck seems like a perfect fit, I like the feel and the features of it. Now that this issue is settled, any suggestions for a pair of powered 12" and a good powered sub. I really dont have a large budget to afford QSC or JBL though I know in an ideal world that would be the way to go. I perform a few weddings, lots of clubs and outdoor events so i need something that will hold up with moving and i have to be able to justify the price. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Take a look at the "EV's" and I'd say go with the 15's. Just Google Electro Voice powered speakers, you won't be disappointed.Check my homepage for some video reviews of the Mixdeck that I have done,like I said I love it!

100% agreed!!! Give the EV's a go, they are awesome, best thing going right now and cheaper than others.
 
have been checking out the EV's there are several different models, which is the model you recommend???

EV ELX115P is the Active 15" tops - I prefer these as you can use with or without Subs and to me they sound better at around 100db than the 12's as the 12s start getting harsh at that range and above.
