i have been consciously and not so consciously "channeling" him since
probably at least college .......
at any rate , i have the frumpy clothes and vehicle
Columbo always got the bad guy which was great .....
what was even greater was his take on life and his self confidence .......
he had a rumpled coat , his dog Dog , his unseen wife that he always spoke so well of .........
his not too glamorous (decrepit) Peugot ..........
and all that was great ....... no complaints , no victim .....no bling necessary

Tear Em 'Up
"Serpentine, Shel, serpentine!!" Best roll of his, ever. He was also in my favorite all time movie....wait for it....The Princess Bride. His part was small in TPB, Inlaws is Falk at his best.

he was already great and had real credentials even before "Columbo"
don't collect trophies ..... just be happy with your life
