I am awaiting a delivery of the new stanton scs4dj midi controller and wondered if i would be able to use it in conjunction with virtual dj.

Yes you can, but AFAIK Virtual DJ does not have native support for SCS4.DJ so you would have to map it yourself, which requires some know-how. Also, you need to buy a license to Virtual DJ Pro, since the free home version does not support MIDI/HID-controllers.
