话题: Plugging in a guitar to the RMX

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

So - I'll begin by saying I've done a heap of research about wanting to do the following:

Plug a guitar into the Hercules RMX, which is connected to the laptop and 2.1 speaker setup so I can be mixing while my mate is jamming along with me. The mixer will take the line in thats connected to the guitar, and output it through the white and red RCA, which is then connected to my speakers.

I've talked to a mate and he mentioned the sound card within the RMX MIDI needs to be configured so that the input (say, MIC input, at the front left of the device) takes the guitar lead and maps it to the output (where the red and white RCA cables are plugged into)

I've searched forums as well, and they all talk about virtual instruments or using MIDI controllers that aren't the RMX. It has been pretty hard to lock down a path I should be taking (get different software, get different hardware, more cables, you can't do it)

Hopefully someone here has an idea, or if not, I could be pointed in the right direction

Thanks in advance,

Lemonade

The mic input of the Rmx is not really meant for that purpose, but it doesn't hurt top try something different once in a while.

Since you are using VDJ LE included with the Rmx, your options are limited to the basic default configuration.

Launch VDJ. Connect the guitar to the MIC input and make sure the mic volume is at minimum.

Next, go to the DJ control panel, and switch the Input Channel 1-2 to MIC (it is necessary to do this AFTER VDJ is launched because LINE In will always be selected by the software).

While still in the DJ control panel, go to the Advanced tab, and for Hardware Mix option, select USB streaming 1-2 + Microphone. This will send the signal from the microphone input (in this case the guitar) directly to Output 1-2 of the Rmx internally.

At this point, you can have both deck plus the guitar signal playing on your speakers. You can control the guitar level using the MIC volume knob.

Give this a try!

Thanks DJ Phatso! I can now hear it through the speakers...though I did a small 20 second test while having a strum, and I didn't hear it in the recording when I played it back. Suggestions?

Well, since the guitar signal is not going through VDJ, it is normal that it will not be recorded. You would need to do a recording of the overall output of the Rmx to get everything.

In order to be able to record the signal of the guitar in VDJ, it would mean that your external source (the guitar/Input 1-2) would need to replace Deck 1, which might a little limiting for your mixing...

@Lemon, you should search for a user named "TRACKER" here on the forums. He's posted videos of himself playing his guitar wih a RMX. He hangs out in the skins forum.

Good luck
Huey
