Hi guys,

In need of some help! I am currently running virtual dj with a numark total control midi unit and dj io soundcard with a pioneer efx 500. I am having problems recording my mixes as the effects from the pioneer unit are not being recorded but the virtual dj basic effects are.

Do i need an extra souncard or accessory or is it just a simple config change.

Any help will be much appreciated. Cheers :)

If you are using VirtualDJ to record, then please see http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/jpboggis/blogs/4135/Recording_your_set_or_broadcasting_when_using_an_external_DJ_mixer.html

The Pioneer hardware effects are applied to the audio signal after it has left VirtualDJ, so it is impossible for VirtualDJ to record the external effects (Unless you route your record output from your mixer (If you have one) back into VirtualDJ and use that as the recording source.)

NOTE: If you aren't using an external mixer of any sort and are simply plugging your speakers directly into the back of the EFX500, then there is no way to record the audio with the effects applied.
