Hey Guys I had a gig last night and my virtual DJ popped up a window saying fatal error, I had two options to either recover or ignore both of which ended up closing VDJ and requiring me to restart the program. This was just happening randomly about every couple of hours. I am not sure if the karaoke plugin had anything to with it but I found when I manually cued in the songs I didnt get the error message anymore.
Also I am having great difficulty setting up my sound card to work in VDJ. I am running windows 7 64 bit, 3.2ghz quad core with 6gb of ram.
The card is an ESI Maya 44 PCI card and I have been told to use the ASIO driver for this.
I am trying to set it up so that stereo out 1&2 are for master and stereo out 3&4 activates a headphone send. The problem I am having is that when using the ESI ASIO driver I am getting a metallic sound from the card. I have managed to fix this by using the ASIO for all driver but I am unsure of how stable this driver is with the card. VDJ keeps changing the card drivers around by itself. and causing the soundcard driver error message to display on the screen.
Any help with all these problems would be greatly appreciated as I love the software and want to fix this so I can just enjoymy gigs without the extra added stress.

Kind Regards
Brad

I don't know too much technical stuff, but here are a few pointers.
1) Make sure you don't leave your comp on for too long. VDJ works fine for me, but if I have my comp sleep instead of shutting down, or leave it on for extended periods of time, it will crash for me too.
2) You should not need to use ASIO4ALL. From what I understand, A4A is a universal driver that allows the comp to treat other sound cards like ASIO sound cards. If you are having problems with the maya44, reinstall the drivers.
3) To avoid cracks in sound, check your latency settings. You have a pretty powerful comp, so you should be able to run VDJ at low latencies, but especially if you use a lot of effects, make sure they are not too low.
4) to improve general performance, under the start menu type in msconfig, open it, go to startup, and uncheck everything you don't need. Then, under the start menu, type in systempropertiesperformance, open it, and uncheck everything. The 1st disables startup programs that may be running in the background even when you don't open them, and the 2nd turns off resource-hogging graphics.
5) If you download new plugins, test them out before just using them in gigs. This has happened to me multiple times; I'll download a new plugin, and the 1st time I use it in VDJ, I get the 'fatal error' message and have to restart the program. After that, I never get the error message ever again, even if I use the plugin.

I hope that helps.
