i have a macbook pro with Virtual dj Hercules rmx. my question is, is there a way to lock the "load to deck" buttons? if there is a track playing on deck A, and i push the "load to deck A button, the song will stop and change. is there a safety feature to prevent this??

Mine always asks me "there is a song playing on deck, are you sure you want to load?"
It comes like that default. Maybe you changed a setting somewhere. Sorry that's not of much help. Unistall and install maybe?

In CONFIG -> Options there is a Security option. If this is set to Never then it will never ask to load a song over the top of a playing one. Change it back Ask again.
NOTE: These options are only available during the Pro trial. If your trial has expired, you can use Home FREE http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html to access and change this option (It will only work for 10 minutes at a time with the RMX connected as a trial of the full VirtualDJ Professional.)

i have the RMX edition of virtual dj so im not sure how far into the settings i can go but i will look into it. thanks for the help everyone

You have probably changed this option during the Pro trial. Once the trial has expired, the options are no-longer available.
You can reset it back to factory settings by deleting the following file:
MacintoshHD -> Users/YOURNAME/Library/Preferences/com.atomixproductions.virtualdj.plist

The 20 day trial is built into VirtualDJ Console Edition and is activated when you to CONFIG -> More
You can try resetting it to factory default settings by deleting the file above.
If this does not work, then it may be that VirtualDJ v5.2 does not have this security option.

I run MBP with Hercules RMX. Once I select a track, I get the icon showing that a track has been played but how do I reset these for the next gig? Every time I open it up, it just shows all the tracks that I have played with the Played Icon by it. Thanks!

Right-click on a song (Or a selection of multiple songs) and choose the option to clear the played flag.
Normally these should clear automatically when you close the software.
If not, make sure that you are running the latest VirtualDJ v7.0.4 Pro ( http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html ) and check that your permissions are set correctly: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20Mac%20Performance%20Issues.html
