ive just blown all my money on the rmx, and the le version is crap!
i know that to get a decent program, i am going to need to spend money, but im a student, and le is not good enough
not only is it outright terrible, it also constantly freezes and doesnt work.
any help?

First of all, you made sure to download and install the latest version (v5.2.2, available from the Download section) , as well as the latest driver (4.HDJS.2010) ?
Then, you may want to apply the suggestion of the following guide to improve the performances of your computer:

Can you also give some details about your computer configuration ? Does it meet the minimum requirements ?

computer specs are:
running windows 7 home premium (64bit)
4 gig ram
core i3 m350 @ 2.27gHz. over 400 gig space left
i downloaded all the new drivers and the software
