I'm thinking of buying this for my first hardware controller but I need to know if..............

1 is it worth £80 (of Amazon)

2 Does it come with Virtual DJ LE

3 I heard that Hercules give you a trial edition of vdj which works with all their controllers. is this true

4 Does virtual DJ basic work with this controller

5 Do you need a sound card for this to work

6 Does it work with latest version of VDJ if not which version does it work on and where can I get it.

1) It's a good place to start and learn the basic

2) & 3) The MP3 e2 comes with Virtual DJ LE, which will only work with this specific controller. You can enable a 20 day trial of VDJ Pro. Once the 20 are over, you will be returned to VDJ LE.

Owning VDJ LE entitled to a rebate if you wish to purchase VDJ Pro.

4) Only Virtual DJ PRO Full provides support for MIDI controllers. All other versions will only work with keyboard and mouse.

5) You need at least a soundcard with 2 stereo outputs if you want to be able to have both a main mix and headphone output.

If you are using a laptop, I would recommend an all in one dedicated DJ soundcard, such as the Audio2 DJ (http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/dj/traktor-audio-2/) or DJIO (http://www.numark.com/djio)

6) The MP3 E2 works natively with VDJ since version 6.02.
 
thx this helped a lot but it also means I have to buy pro version which will cost a lot (I'm 12)
 
The LE version is not limited in time but only in features. It might not have all the bells and whitles of the Pro, but will allow you to get started and learn the basics of mixing. There is already plenty of things to be done:
