Hello. I have a Hercules RMX running VDJ Pro and had a question about MIDI Mapping. I'm able to do basic mappings such as changing the buttons to control loop in/out and map the sync as a shift to have more options, but run into trouble when trying to map effects parameters to certain knobs. For example, I downloaded the Filter effect for mac and wanted to reassign the left/right balance knob to change the cutoff frequency of the effect. How would i go about doing this?
Thank you.
Thank you.

You should be able to map the effect sliders by saying: effect "name of effect" slider #
eg. deck 1 effect "filter" slider 1
I use this... it will activate the effect when you move the knob past zero, and deactivate when you return the position of the knob to zero saving a dedicated on off button
deck 1 effect "filter" slider 2 & param_greater 0% ? deck 1 effect "filter" active on : deck 1 effect "filter" active off
eg. deck 1 effect "filter" slider 1

The name of effect, you can find it in the description, not the one is listed on the left.

Is it possible to do the same thing (change the L/R balance knob to a filter knob) on Virtual DJ 5 DJC Edition?
Sorry about reviving this thread but I just got the Hercules RMX and am confused haha

Sorry, this is not possible in VirtualDJ Console Edition. It does not support custom mapping and native devices in VirtualDJ v5 cannot be edited.
If you wish to customise the mappings, use custom skins, effects, etc. and much, much more, you will need to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Professional. The built-in filter effect is also only available in the latest VirtualDJ Professional and can easily be mapped to a knob of your choice.
Your RMX DJ Console entitles you to a significant discount off upgrading to the full VirtualDJ Professional. To receive this, please go to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html and enter your DJ Console software serial number in the box provided.
You can try out custom mapping before upgrading for 10 minutes at a time in VirtualDJ Home FREE: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html
Please ensure that you have the latest DJ Console drivers and firmware installed (This is required for it to work with the latest versions of the software.) A link to download this can be found on the following page: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html

Did you ever figure out script for this? I am trying to do the same thing for my 4mx... I want to assign the cue/mix knob to filter the right deck, and the main volume to be the left.
