I was helping a buddy w/ VDJ and he has both a Gigaport and of course, built in sound.
When we select the Gigaport and 'Apply', life is good.
But when we restart VDJ, it defaults back to the built in audio - and must choose the Gigaport again.
What could/would cause this?

This sounds like the behavior of the free home edition version of Virtual DJ. It has a 10 minute time span. Does it stop functioning after a bit once you get it working? What operating system is this? Need a little more info man....LOL

Well, not much more. Paid version - that, I know.
XP SP3 on a S135 Satellite laptop.
Just installed 7.0.3 on top but happened prior to that.

Have you tried getting it to work, then exiting out of the software? I know if you just shut down the system or have an error Virtual DJ will sometimes "forget" the settings. Closing the software properly will save the settings. I am not 100% sure on what to look for in the registry but check this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDJ
Look for SimpleAudio and make sure it has a value of 0.
Maybe someone else can chime in here too...

Well, it was an orderly shutdown - not an end task.
So will check the reg key when I see the puter again.
