Topic: Vdj effects/Denon turntable effects

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hello,
I am having trouble with the effects on virtual Dj. I have just bought new Denon 3700 turntables and i was wondering how i can configure my settings to not use virtual djs effects and use my Denons effects instead. It seems as though my turntables effects are automatically configured with the effects on virtual dj. The effects on my Denons are much better and i was wondering if there is a way to configure the settings to use there effects rather then virtual djs.
Thanks!

Sorry, this is not possible. The built-in effects will only work when using audio CD's or USB media.

When acting as a MIDI controller, the controller simply sends instructions to the DJ software (MIDI messages) to tell it which button was pressed. It's upto the DJ software to perform an appropriate action (In VirtualDJ's case, activate an appropriate effect in VirtualDJ.)

The only external effects you can use are those built into hardware DJ mixers (E.g: Flanger, echo, etc.) or effect units such as Korg KaosPad These are applied directly to the audio signal coming in to the appropriate channel on the mixer (Or input of the effect unit) and will work with any audio source (CD, vinyl, computer, etc.)

O ok thanks for the response! Do you know if this is the same case with Serato Scratch live? If i was to get serato would the effects on the Denons work?

Nope, wouldn't work on Serato either.

They won't work with any DJ software. In MIDI mode, the players control the software directly and will activate appropriate effects built into the software itself (If it has them.)

Hmmmm that kinda suck haha thanks for the help guys! :)

I have a very similar question. The Stanton C.324 CD players have effects built into them. I wanted to know if I'm using a timecode CD would I be able to use the effects on the CD player or would that just distort my time code signal, instead of actually affecting the audio? the effects on the C324 to the best of my knowledge work directly on the audio and are not midi related at all.

You got it - effects will apply to the audio signal causing the timecode to fail.

You will need to use the effects in VirtualDJ, not those on your CD player, which as above would be applied to the timecode signal and corrupt it.

Hi guys, I am a club dstyle Dj, I beat mix and scratch. I just purchased 2 3700's and want to know which Denon mixer works best with VDJ and also what laptop Windos system would be the best to buy, I am a little interested in the future of mix videos. But bottom line is I need the computer of choice and mixer too.
I have a dn x155 that i could use and just get a laptop, but I need you guys input. So, Tell me what laptop is the favorite of your choice.

in a follow up question if I used stantons M207's on board effects I'd be set? because it would apply the effects to the final output signal, not the timecode signal? Honestly I want that mixer but a digipak comes with the M203. Guess it's gigs til I have saved up enough.

Yes, if you use a hardware audio mixer that has built-in effects then this will work fine.

Mixer effects can be applied to any audio signal being input into the mixer (Including the audio outputs from VirtualDJ.)
