Topic: Old laptop crashed, just bought a new one but.....

It doesn't work as well.... My old Dell XPS M1330 graphics card went out so I went and bought this ASUS with these specs thinking it would be just fine, but it's worse than my old one. Did I make a mistake by going with integrated graphics? It doesn't seem to be maxing out the cpu or memory.. I use a Audio8DJ soundcard. I get skips every once in a while, I do karaoke and the beat graph doesn't look the same. It looks like it's right on the brink of skipping, barely moving smoothly.

Your computer certainly has enough beef to run VDJ all day and all night. I'd suggest shutting down back ground programs that are running, and searching the forums on stripping and tweaking your lappy for VDJ use. Are you using this system for VDJ only? or are you do you web surf or use other programs on it as well?
 
 
I suggest that you google and look at this superb site again to turn off background services, internet, wifi etc.....

This is a great website that allows you to turn off this kind of stuff and get VDJ running nice and smooth with no glitches, stutters or anything if you need any more info just let me know.
 
This computer is brand new, I have disabled and deleted all useless programs. I don't have anything running in the background. I do use it for internet every once in a while personally but, it's not like kids use it filling it up with spyware and viruses.
 
What was your reason for going with an intergrated graphics card?
 
This is what I could get in the time frame I needed to get it in.
 
couldn't you have loaded a new card ?
or is that too techy to d.i.y. ?
 
Not sure that is possible on this laptop.
