My girlfriend is trying to download the free edition, but once we download it it doesn't open if we click on it or when we right click open is not an option.

Have you tried a different web browser? Recently I had a similar issue with another download using IE. I used Firefox and the file downloaded correctly...

Yes, try using Firefox (its the best and most secure Browser anyway)
If not then delete it completely and try again...
If still no good, come back and ask again, sure we can help sort this out... There are lots ov savvy bods here...
