Previous to today I have been able to play songs in Windows Media Player, YouTube links, etc., and it would come over my Left Channel (Channel 1) on my external mixer (Denon DN-X500 connected to a DN-HC4500). I'm not getting anything resident from my laptop to play out of channel 1 anymore, although both channels in Virtual work just fine (I can play music from the left or right side of Virtual DJ and it outputs to my external mixer. If I open the mixer on my laptop in the bottom right it shows that there is audio there, coming from YouTube, or Media Player, etc., but it won't play out over my external mixer. In my Windows 7 machine I have three options for playback in the lower right mixer, Speakers (Realtek Digital Audio), Realtek Digitial Audio Output (these are both referring to my onboard sound card), and the third option is "Speakers (DN-HC4500), which is obviously the hardware soundcard Virtual is using on the ASIO driver. When I try to play a Windows Media file or stream from the web with the "Speakers (DN-HC4500) selected no audio is indicated (the channel bar doesn't go up and down with the song). When I select Realtech Digital Audio Output I see the volume indicator going up and down, but still no audio makes it to my DN-X500.
Any ideas? This is the first time I've had this problem, I used to be able to stream audio all the time.

ASIO drivers can only be used by one program at a time. If you are running VirtualDJ with the HC4500 in ASIO mode (Strongly recommended), then no other applications can use the sound card of the HC4500 at the same time.
If you wish to also be able to output sound from Windows Media Player, etc., simply connect a suitable cable (3.5 headphone jack to 2xRCA phono) from the headphone output of your computer to a spare channel on your mixer and use your computer's built-in sound card for this.

I have two issues with this, one is that everything used to work fine. I have a top of the line laptop so I'm not sure why having a third sound input is a problem. Perhaps the bigger issue is I can't get any sound to come out my headphone jack or built in speakers, even with a fresh boot and no Virtual DJ running. I can select "Realtek" as the output and see the volume indicators going up and down in the Windows mixer, but no sound will come out. Did a driver/DirectX get hosed somewhere or is there something I am not thinking of?
