OK guys, I don't want to start any Mac vs. PC war here, I could just do with honest opinions and maybe some good old facts. I simply wanna get what's best out there within my budget. I am really considering buying an i Mac 21.5 inch with the following specs;

1TB Serial ATA Drive
ATI Radeon HD 5670 512MB GDDR3 SDRAM

Apple Wireless Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)
Magic Mouse

AppleCare Protection Plan for iMac/eMac

Echo,
Sorry to change the subject, but by chance is your name Jason Gibson? I knew a DJ Echo once.

First off what are you going to be using the computer for and have you used a Mac before? If not it takes some getting used to, It take me a few weeks and now I feel lost on a windows machine. And second I am a Mac lover (I do have a windows desktop as a backup and to sync with the xbox as well as I have windows on a partition on my macbook pro) but will also say this.....It is hard to find certain programs if you are used to windows pc. Both of those are good systems another thing that you need to think about is how is your computer knowledge because if you know how to maintain them (Virus,Spyware,Registry) a windows computer will last you for a while. But if you do not have a vast knowledge of computer use and maintenance and want to get something that doesn't take as much maintenance get a Mac. This is my opinion, hope it helps but it's just hard to argue for one over the other.

I have been a long time MAC user but prefer to run VDJ in Windows mainly becasue of the plugins. Also to me the PC version has always appeared to be a step ahead.

I have heard the same about VDJ is better developed for windows as well. (well not heard but read here on the forums) But with all of the newer macs he can run VDJ on windows using Bootcamp and save $500 (don't know how 2 make the other symbol)

That's funny how you want combine 24GB DDR3 and Windows 7 32bit, which can utilize only 3GB.

Why would anyone not involved in serious HD video editing need 24Gb RAM. Surely that's overkill in the extreme?

Great point, I overlooked that. I have heard that most DAW's including VJD do not work well on a Windows 64bit though?

VirtualDJ works OK on Windows 64-bit and has done for some time now.

However, some older hardware such as DJ sound cards may not have compatible drivers.

I went with both. I have a 24" iMac and I use that at home, I have the pc for travel.

i think, windows is better than MAC.

Can u elaborate a little more on why you think windows is better than mac? That is a generic statement that a lot of us Mac users would say the same thing about Mac being better than windows. Is it that u just like the OS better or do u think VDJ is better developed for Windows than Mac. I'm just curious because if it's a OS thing then we all have personal preference cause I can list a lot of reasons why I think Mac is better just as I'm sure you could with Windows. But I think the OP is implying Mac or PC when it comes to using VDJ.

My opinion, Mac is the better computer. I have had mine almost 3 years and have had a total of one problem that I resolved. I got my pc and I have had already had a major problem in the one month I have had it.

The only plus I can think of for the pc that there are more a few more effects.

Mac is a better machine however VDJ is better on Windows.

I have VDJ running on the Macbook Pro 17" in XP 32bit and it's faultless.

Bootcamping is dead easy and you have the best of both worlds in one computer

Keith

I agree with Krad except I have windows 7 on my bootcamp partition. There are some programs that I use that are only windows only. So this way I have the best machine & can use any program that I need 2 cuz I have the best of both worlds.
