Hey guys, so I'm pretty new to all this. I've been messing around with Virtual DJ for a couple years and DJing has always been something that interested me but it's just been recently that I've been thinking about getting a controller. Considering the fact that I am at a pretty novice level, I was thinking about buying something not too expensive but I still want to buy something pretty decent. (I was thinking something like the Numark MixTrack Pro or Hercules RMX) I have quite some money ready but would eventually like to not spend over 400$ since it will be my first time buying.
So my question to you is, what would you recommend, for somebody that's relatively new to all this but is very willing to invest time and effort into it? I love music and DJing is something I really like. And any other advice you guys would have for me, would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Dimethyl21.

If your gonna just mess around at home a Hercules RMX or Numark Mixtrack will do just fine. I would look for a used NS7, or if you want to take the leap, buy a Denon DN-MC6000. Cant go wrong with either of those, good resale and fun to learn on.
May as well start pricing speakers now if your thinking of a controller!

Thanks for the advice man, yeah I want to just mess around with it, and I have some eventual offers for some high school party gigs (I'm still in high school) so I need to have a controller decent enough for that. Do you think the Hercules RMX or MixTrack Pro could do the work for that? Is the money really worth Denon DN-MC6000 considering I'm still pretty new?

Yes the MixTrack Pro and RMX are a great place to start. I only suggested the Denon because I'd hate to see anyone do what I did, and buy equipment on impulse. I've got a RMX that sits on my desk, been out of the house once.
If you think DJ'ing is going to become a hobby, then do your research and buy the right stuff once!

Okay, yeah, good point. I really need to think as in what exactly I'm going to invest in. And eventually as you said some speakers, any advice on that?

Depending on what you have to haul them in, the B-52 1000 & 2000 package is an option. Tons of low end, very mobile friendly, set-up and break-down a breeze.
Some XLR cables, two stands, a power strip and your ready to rock & roll! You can price out all that stuff online... good luck!
