I've done this twice now.. :-(
Play song on deck 1 / Crossfade over to deck 2 and play it / Let it run out as I mix over to a different different system / Return to this system later, dragging a song to deck 1 (WHILE THE CROSSFADER IS STILL ON DECK 2!) / Mix over to it - nothing.
Did I mention I'm an idiot?
So............. how about an "Auto-set Crossfader on load" option in Options: If the system is IDLE and a tune is dragged to a deck (either one), make sure the crossfader is set for that deck.
Not sure if this happens to anyone else, or if I'm the only one who needs to pay closer attention to what I'm doing !!
Happy Holidays all,
Doug

I don't really understand this part.....are you telling us that you are using 2 DJ systems to mix?
Sounds like your just playing a song after another and not doing any beat mixing, if this is so why not just make a good play list on Itunes and let itunes play your music automatically?

Sounds frustrating, but I'm not sure it's problem many people would have if I'm honest.
How about buying a sound card with 2 outputs (one for each deck), so then you can run both virtual dj decks into your mixer, as well as your other playback system. Then you can disable the vdj crossfader and do it all on the real mixer- much simpler for when you're busy dj'ing imo.

Yep, 2 (standalone) VDJ systems (2 decks each) and yes, I DO Beatmatch 'tween the 2; but one of the systems is used for videos so I need the video crossfader feature on that system. If it weren't for that fact, I would have done the 2-cards into my 4-channel mixer thing (and you're right, that would solve the problem) ...
I guess I just have to "look where I'm loading" ... LOL!

I agree. If you're not doing any beat matching and are just doing a fade in/out kind of style , why even move the crossfader? leave it in the center.
Use your volume controls to fad one in and one out.
That way it doesn't matter which side of the decks you use, you'll always get sound.
I don't think you are an idiot. I think you are un-experienced. If you make it a habbit to always move your crossfader before you start playing a song, pretty soon you'll be doing it without even thinking about it.
Being a good DJ is making good habits until they become second nature.
