Topic: Kontrol X1 mapping

Hey guys -

I installed the X1 mapping, and all the buttons work but none of the LEDs respond. Am I doing something wrong?

I have not used X1, but I'm guessing it's because VDJ doesn't have native two-way HID-support for X1, so the controller is functioning in dumb MIDI-mode and just sending button signals to one direction.
 
I thought midi could send signals to operate on the LEDs on the controller. The original mapping said he got the LEDs working.
 
Sorry, the Kontrol X1 is not currently natively supported by VirtualDJ.

Simple MIDI Wrapper only supports basic MIDI. Advanced features such as LED's require a proper device definition and mapper file to be created - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript.html for details.
 
I think the author of the X1 Mapper has found a workaround for the leds. It seems a little tricky but he claims it works. Did you follow the given instructions?
 
Yea I followed them, but no luck. How do we know which controllers are natively mapped?
 
Config-Mappers-Mapper options (icon next to dropdown menu). Uncheck the Show only connected devices, and you will be able to view all the supported controllers from the drop down menu.
