Roy, how and why did you remove the vms4 icon?
 
it doesn't allow IN then for TC control when i use 8 in 8 out

How is the innofader? Big difference?
 
much better for cutting. still getting used to the close set up. thanks for the video how do you do it? i must be missing something in my text?
 
You need to type youtube in square brackets then just the code part (yours is ZlI1Kd7nfKs?hl) then /youtube in square brackets. no spaces and nothing else.

hi my name is djdontopper i have the vms4 from american dj !!!from the store la curacao in los angeles
for 599.00 in los angeles ca.

im using the vdj 6le im going to upgrade to 7 version soon!!!!

i have a question!!!
for some reason the gain,the volumen, bass and treble doesnt move in the software screen is that normal???

also i was trying to record a mixtape but the cross fader doent move it sound very nasty!!!

if i upgrate to the 7 version i will be able to record and the gain bass and treble will move in the software ????
in this page that this hardware is coming with the 7le version
but i dont know why i got it with the 6le

anybody please help me !!!!
because if im not will be able to record or i will be have more problem with this hardware?
i should return it soon !!!!!

it tells you right in the manual about the gains, bass treble etc. you have to MAP it within VDJ. i would suggest you read the manual they supply them with equipment for a reason. its like the 2st paragraph under midi setup. good luck.
 
Hi can anybody help just got the vms4 controller

And I'm having massive problems setting it up r I've come straight from turntables
And its all new to me cant get channels to work disc that came with it virtual dj le
Foes not have any tabs when you click config is there anybody out there I can phone who will give me a hand setting it up thanks
 
KINDLY SUGGEST ME TURNTABLES

Hey, I just picked up the American Audio VMS4 and realized that the mixer (or midi controller) wont really do my job for scratching.
I was planning on picking up turntables. Though not too expensive.
Also i was wondering whether I'd have to end up buying vinyl cd's too because I live in India and its not like they're available that easy. I'd probably have to order em online. I was also wondering whether there are any turntables out there that'll connect up to my laptop or mixer (via usb) and convert my mp3's into vinyl so i wouldnt have to buy the vinyl discs. would i be able to get the same scratch quality? I have alot of questions as i'm new to this. please help me out.
Oh and Shipping will also end up costing me a bomb so not too high a budget for TT's.

Been using the vms4 for 3 weeks now...DJ'n a club every Friday night with it(starting another bar this Tuesday) and have used it for a few house parties....Not one prob yet....I love the jog wheels for pitch bending...much better than the kontrol s4(yes I have that one two) For the money you can not beat the vms4! I love the kontrol s4 for more so called studio mixing....but for parties,weddings and even clubs..I will take the vms4 all day long....And don't even get me started on the whole mixing with 4 decks(insert big o'l smile here) I love vdj7...much better then then the traktor software that came with the kontrol s4....And for you sync and waveform dj's(to me one and the same)...vdj7 works much better then traktor...I started on 1200's 20 years ago..so it took me awhile to give into playing with a midi and laptop...but I love it! I love all the on the fly remixing you can do! I use a regular macbook, not one single prob! I do not know about the vms4...but when I first got the kontrol s4...I could not get it to work with a PC...bought a mac...not one prob...and again,vdj7 works great on it! I even love the netsearch you can subscribe to...Used it a bunch of times for this house party I did on NYE......So with all that said..........

Very happy about the $399 I spent on the vms4........Joey D!

what do you mean? i have been djing for 16+ years if your talking about why when i do doubles and juggling its on time that's from Practice, practice, practice.
 
At MBLV (mobile beat las vegas) 2011, American Audio was selling VMS4 & headphones for $400 + 8.75% tax.

I didn't get it there. Instead i purchased a used open box item from guitar center near my house for $400 + tax. there were a few defects with the device.

defects:
plastic wheel covering would make the jog slow down.
right fx and sampler play buttons were slow to respond compared to the left side.
liquid spills stains from previous owner.. <= not adj fault..

so, i returned it to guitar center and upgraded to a factory sealed NEW vms4.

came home thinking it would be alright; now the -30 green LED on the left doesn't turn on. and -20 green LED on the left appears to be dying.
all other LED's work just fine. controller works just fine.. except for those sampler and fx buttons. again, i need to return this item.

why do I need to test this product? why? someone please tell me.

as a midi controller, analogue mixer, and 8 ch asio sound card, it's an amazing product. it's the build quality that's shameful. 2 purchases so far, and each one has its own unique defects. and let's not forget the price has been raised to $500 + tax. and no headphones.

if american audio representatives are reading this, please consider building your machines with a better build quality. LED's not burning out.. on a new factory sealed box; buttons working as they should. and actually TEST these items thoroughly as you write it on the box.

the last shameful act by american audio is their 'do not contact your dealer'. so i called up american audio,
AA: what software are you using it with?
me: virtual dj 7 pro
AA: you need to try it out with virtual dj LE
me: i don't want to use it with LE, i want to use it with pro.. can you fix it or not?
AA: you need to bring it here.. not telling me where they are, just assuming i know and that it's not costing me anything. so i go along with it and say,
me: if i drive out to you, can you replace it with a new one?
AA: we have to check it out first
me: ok.. so an hour.
AA: no 3 to 4 days.

... they need to inspect their new factory sealed item for 3 to 4 days to decide whether or not a physical defect is their fault!!!

truly, the most shameful act any corporation.. i mean sure it's better than hercules: 'my supervisor doesn't speak english, he speaks frech' story, but still. a very shameful act.

if only numark's ns6 was 4ch + 2 mic's. i wouldn't even bother with american audio.

DJ KZ .. sorry to say purchased an american audio device. how do i remove it?
 
My mini review of AMERICAN AUDIO VMS 4

After extremely bad experiences with Omnitronic TMC-02 I decided to try American Audio VMS4. Here you have some of my conclusions:


+ ADVANTAGES

* metal, solid gear
* good quality jogs
* interesting scratch+pitch jog mode
* analog mixer (very good feature in case of laptop freeze)
* 4 channels which can be splitted between USB,DVS/analog (2 phono/line inputs)
* a lot of programmable buttons, SHIFT function
* touchstrips
* clear arrangement of buttons
* turbo MIDI mode with 1ms latency
* separate booth/record outputs
* balanced output
* can work without external power supply (only with USB)
* Innofader compatible


- DEFECTS

* very high microphones distortions
* very low master output
* low headphone output and quality (lack of high frequencies and deep)
* narrow EQ curve (characteristic works almost like 'kill', it's not smooth)
* poor signal to noise characteristic
* mouse sensitivity and speed are very low
* LEDs are not equally illuminated (some active LEDs illuminating over non-active buttons - see my 3 last images)
* 6 KG weight is decreasing mobility


FINAL CONLCUSION:

DON'T BUY THAT VERSION! WAIT FOR VMS4 TRAKTOR EDITION!

....Why? Please see American Audio member statement:

The VMS4 Traktor version we showed at NAMM 2011 already had the increased master and headphone outputs as well as the fix for the microphone distortion. When it's introduced it will have these fixes plus much improved signal to noise characteristics.

is the AA VMS4 traktor editoin compatible with VDJ or does one have to use the VMS4 virtualdj edition? please reply ASAP
 
The difference will be the software it comes with. The VMs4 is natively mapped for VDJ. You have no worries.
