It all depends on YOU really. My buddy has a Typhoon and it's fun to play around on, but I much prefer my VCI-100 for my gigs. But it all depends on your preferences. The VCI-100 doesn't have an audio card in it (which I prefer).

Do your research and try one out at the music store, before you make your decision.

I had a chance to touch and feel the Typhoon, and I think it's bad-ass for a interfaceless controller. I like the craftsmanship of it including but not limited to the relatively tough plastic build of it as well as how the platters feel. Making contact with platters, touching them with my fingers, i.e., was very satisfying, as the grip was really good, and I just can't think of why this controller would not be good for scratching. At 300 USD I think its a pretty damn good unit.

thanks for replying , does any1 know if i could map a knob on the controller (or any midi controler) for cue mix cue --> master output through the headphones . my rmx has it but the typhoon doesnt :(

not really mapped anything on controllers

In VirtualDJ Pro, you can change the mapping of a knob, button, etc. to any function of your own choice.

E.g: Map a knob you don't use to headphone_mix
