Topic: utilizing VV's third output for a third deck????

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I just bought VDJ 7 today, :D
wondering if it is possible to use the third output from the Virtual Vinly soundcard to play sound from a third deck, I only need it for acapella's so don't really need to hear it before mixing as they are pretty easy to get on time... I had a look briefly in the advanced setup but could not recognize if this was possible. Also I am thinking of getting an xone 2d or 3d controller, will VDJ work with two TT's and a controller for a third deck? I saw a few posts on setting up two different controllers but not TT's and a controller.

Cheers

Yes it will output the sound of the 3rd deck. But no sound will be put out for the 4th deck. Your better off buying a new card if you want to use all 4 decks, that what I did.

Actually on a closer look, I can't get VDJ to recognize the VV sound card at all, It says that the ASIO sample rate is not supported. I am trying to get it to work with a Virtual Vinyl soundcard and and my old m audio connective soundcard. I have set them both at 512 (11ms) latency, but I am still getting the message. I can't find any other settings for the VV soundcard anywhere but within VDJ so I think I have done the right thing.

2 questions... Can this soundcard work in the advanced settings or does it need ASIO supported cards.?

Is there a firmware update of the Virtual Vinyl soundcard to enable ASIO?

This is what I was told which is why I'm getting rid of mine and getting the Audio dj 8.

The VV box is designed to run timecode with a lower latency than a usual soundcard.
There is a bunch of complicated code in the driver and firmware to give it "adaptative latency" to adapt the latency automatically to the lowest your system is capable of, in real time.

But, because of these optimizations, the VV cannot be operated alongside "normal" slower soundcards.
(the VV would have to "wait" on the other cards to keep the streams synchronized, and it's not possible).

But anyway, the VV box does have 3 outputs, so it can definitely be used in a 3-decks mode, and you would even still have the low-latency inputs to get your timecode in.
But yes, if you want to get more than 3 outputs, you'll have to use some hardware that is built to handle such things.
The VV box was built to handle low-latency timecode, not versatility and multi-channels ;)

Basicly what I get from it is that the software has out done the hardware. Trust me I throw a big fit when I found it wouldnt work in the Advanced Config. It would have been killer if it did. All the in and outs on one side!! Fit perfectly in my coffin, never ever had to disconnect it. Plus it was always a stable card!!

Hope that helps, I would just buy a new box and be done with it. I mean look they havent even released an update for it yet but Cue has theirs................

scratch the question, It works perfectly you just need to select the 3 line mixer option :)

Yeah that what I said in the first post...............
