Here are some of the differences in load speeds I'm getting between VDJ 6 and VDJ 7.

.VOB 177mb
VDJ 6 = 4 sec
CDJ 7 = 15 sec

.AVI 78mb
VDJ 6 = 4 sec
VDJ 7 = 17 sec

.MP4 58mb
VDJ 6 = 6 sec
VDJ 7 = 21 sec

.MOV 104mb
VDJ 6 = 3 sec
VDJ 7 = 20 sec
 
exactly = above statement...

last night I had been testing the affect of the slow loading to see what I can and cant do with the hopefull limited time of inconvienance.

1. two deck skin
2. all video files used
3. recording mp3 to hard drive as 192
4. extend to external tv vai usb
5. using TT
6. I would set my loop function during the file loading

Two videos in, I turned on the random transition and *BAM* the whole thing locked. I mean, I didn't get the crash gaurd. I just lock, the screen locked the sound went into this "slur" of a note- like when you use the 100% pitch.. thats the sound. Then the windows pop up said that the "vdj window has stop functioning. Closing or cancel"

I did everything all over again but I waited for the file to load before I did any loop, cueing or anything.. I must say, it was a MAJOR inconvienance. Sorry, but this not acceptable. I use an mp3 file maybe twice a session so this slow loading should not be brushed under the rug.

I have never has a single problem since 3x and now this. Please don't just push this on the back burner. If you have a dozen forum users speaking up. Imagin the all the non forum users who may experience this but don't use the forum. They may start looking other directions as their solutions... I'm just saying - thats what I would do if I wasn't commited.

And how was this missed my the VIP team.. this is not something that happens once in-a-while.
 
i also notice the mp4 loading issue,

i tested the old vdj 6 to vdj7 and ,vdj6 loaded my mp4 in about 8 sec, the new version took 26sec...
this was for a 5 min video..

thats a major difference

i have about less than 10% of mp4 in my video collection, the other 90% are mpg2..which arent a problem at all.
 
I have started to notice that it's not so much about the file type but file size. Smaller files are about the same but larger ones are 4 times slower.
 
I haven't had a chance to check out the load time, but i noticed that it took much longer to analyze some new videos yesterday
 
Same from here, I downloaded to version 6.1.2 Pro since last weekend had the problema loading VOB files. AVI or MPEG compressed hasn't this problem and load very fast. But my collection are almost 7200 VOB files and just 150 AVI in a 2TB external HD. And the most importat, if I need to buy a new laptop, there's no way to get the S-VHS output with very good quality (I mean do not use conversior from VGA to RCA)

I'm waiting for a small update that fix this problem. btw, I use only 2 decks.

I'll chime in too as I have tried the video on my two computers and have the exact same thing with VOB files loading a little slower on both computers using Virtual DJ 7 pro.

However, It's not slow enough that it will not allow you to play videos and get through a night playing. To me it's a small trade-off to the rest of the improvements to VDJ7! I'm sure there will be a fix for this soon :)

I have the same problem and after reading some posts in the Spanish forum I put together this video which I have also forward it to a Team Member. Sorry about the quality but I did it way too fast and the camera settings were off.

The left deck loads a video, the video's sound sampling rate is 48000 Hz while the one on the right deck is the same video but the sampling rate is 44100 Hz . That's the only difference between them.

I tried exactly as you said. I encoded an MP4 file with the audio at 44,100 and then at 48,000. The bitrate is the same on both but the file with the audio encoded at 44,100 loads in 1.5 seconds while the file with the audio encoded at 48,000 loads in 10 seconds.
 
yea this slow loading of video drives me nuts, I find myself tapping my foot with my hand on my hip waiting for it to load. Maybe 7.0.1 will kick ass and be fixed
 
I have slow loading problems as well. Except for cashed videos, they load up fast unless I am loading a stored video at the same time.

Vdj 7.0.1 def loads slower than vdj 6, and netsearch songs can take up to 30 seconds or more before they start to load on my machine. I have attributed that to the internal harddrive sleeping, since all of my music is on the external.

 
Add me to the list of members having slowwww loading with video files on VDJ7.

Noticed on both MPG and MP4 files. MPG using PCM and AC3.

Have two systems my primary and backup system. Both running Vista Home Premium 32bit.

One is a Dual Core the other a Dual Core Duo.

Both of these systems have this issue.

Right now the loading is so slow that I'm still using last version of version 6.

I would have reported this earlier but, saw other members with this issue. However after reading that some are claiming this is only effecting a small user base I figured I would add my name to the list of effected users. I'm wondering how many other users are having this same issue with version 7 but, like me hadn't reported it.
