Topic: This is crazy, can anyone help on this

OK Ive been using VDJ forever now and really utilizing virtual folders, I have 4 KJ shows a week...TUE SHOW NO PROB with VDJ, WED SHOW NO PROB....THURSDAY SHOW here we go.....

Started up VDJ on my DELL XPS windows XP opened VDJ and noticed Almost all my virtual folders are not there and the ones that are don't have most of the stuff ive been adding over the past months there...so then I'm about to start show and started to look for the karaoke songs people want to sing....it wasn't searching NOTHING THERE...OK I'm panicing a little (not like me) anyways...somehow I must of started a second VDJ (shows "virtualdj 2") so i went to that one well that one worked I could search and find what i needed and the sound card worked and the dac-3 work but only with ......virtualdj 2.....Everything is connected like it was wed & tues....any ideas??

Really sounds like you fired up VDJ before your external hard drive spooled up (even though it may be turned on it take a moment for your CPU to register it). This has happened to me a few times, never in the middle of a night, always at the beginning. Now I'm in the habit of not opening VDJ until I see "Autoplay" and have never had any issues.
 
yes....I believe that to be tru.......also noticed those HD's LETTERS are not in the browser to CHECK CLEAN & FIX???


is there a way to fix this
 
i did do a reinstall of VDJ, but I think I need to delete a history or something!!!

Can you access you HD via your "My Computer" Icon?
 
YES I have 4 1tb they have been working great, but all of a sudden had this problem....
 
note sure if this has anything to do with anything....but
I have also noticed when i try to save something to notepad or excell or any doc...

I get

Cant be saved as is

says "make sure that the path and file name is correct"

They are correct
 
if you open two instances of VDJ at the same time by mistake this happens. one loads your database the other shows up almost blank. this happen to me once or twice before. i was bugging out until i realized i had a second instance going of VDJ. closed out other instance and it was good 2 go.
 
yep still have problem open VDJ hardley nothing there and no HD in browser, until I open a second VDJ then everything is there, THATS WHY I"M PUZZLED....even after restarting my vista lappy.....I can go open same HDS with my backuo lappy no problem sees and searchs by opening 1 vdj????

thats why i said THIS IS CRAZY......

Did you changed ANYTHING on the "Security" tab on ANY folder of your HDD's ????
 
OK I fixed it......ThX for the help though....

Here is what I did to resolve the prob....I knew alll the virtual files were there....so I completly removed VDJ from the lappy giving me the problem then installed it back to that lappy.....PROBLEM SOLVED......

THX AGAIN I LUV VDJ also if you like to mix and have everything right on the skin I LUV the "CONDENSED" skin been using it the past couple of shows WOW!!!!
