Hi all, just a quick one - I have an SEP-C1 at the moment. It has a little screen on it you can use to navigate through your tracks, select genres and whatnot - does VDJPro support this function, as in, can I still navigate through my tracks on the controller?
Thanks

I don't have one but I believe the screen is supported. Certainly general midi commands work natively with VDJ. Do a forum search for MEP-7000 as there's a fair bit of info about this controller on here.

You can not use the MEP7000/SEP-C1 screens for navigation. They do not support browser displaying of VirtualDJ's interface. You can only view the currently playing track on the Info panel of the display.

I have the MEP-7000 (controller and dual deck).
Deadline: You CAN use the knobs to browse through the tracks within the VDJ browser (you can see the movement on your computer when you move the knobs on the SEP-C1) you just cannot use the SEP-C1 as a substitute for your laptop/vdj browser. You can even use the buttons on the controller to load your selected tracks instead of having to use your computer mouse.
If I read your post right I believe that is what you were asking...if you could use the knobs to select your tracks...answer yes, just cannot see that information in the window until you load the track to an active VDJ deck.

Why is that? The very outdated Pioneer DJS software can bring up the Browse window on the LCD of the SEP-C1 and it is just connected via USB (just like Virtual DJ)

It most likely uses a proprietary protocol which may not available to other DJ software manufacturers and/or cannot be supported without special bespoke coding within VirtualDJ (I.e: It can't be mapped via the existing HID/MIDI mapping capabilities of VirtualDJ.)
If the relevant technical information is publicly available then it may be possible to implement in a future version of the software. If so, you can request this in the wishes & new features forum.
Please bear in mind that this topic is nearly 4 years old now.

How would us as ordinary users have technical information from Pioneer on this? I would think you guys with a working relationship with Pioneer could ask them this question to see what protocols they are using. Without having the Browse feature work via the LCD screen, it seems that the SEP-C1 is really only partially supported with VDJ.
